Setting up Windows 95

• Go to START/Programs/Accessories/Internet Tools/INTERNET SETUP WIZARD (may say "Get on the Internet")
• click NEXT
• insert Windows 95 CD-ROM (if requested)
• click NEXT
• type the appropriate modem number for your area. If you are within an area that requires ten digit dialing, enter the area code at this time as well.
• click NEXT
• type your username
  type your password
  NOTE:your username and password must are case sensitive.
• click NEXT
• check "Obtain an IP address automatically"
• click NEXT
• check "Use Internet Mail"
  type your e-mail address (username@shuksan.com)
  type mail.shuksan.com for your "Internet Mail Server"
• click NEXT
• check "Use this profile when starting Exchange"
• click FINISH
• click YES to restart (if requested)
• To access the World Wide Web, double click on "The Internet" icon on your desktop. To access your mail, double click on the "Inbox" icon on your desktop.

Setting up Windows NT

Go to your Start Menu, Control Panel, Network

1. Under the "Services" Tab:
   • select Remote Access Service
   • click Properties... (your modem should be listed)
   • click Configure...
   • select Dial Out Only, click OK
   • click Network...
   • select TCP/IP, click YES to restart the computer

Go to your Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, Dial-up Networking

• click NEW to envoke the New Phonebook Entry Wizard
• enter "Shuksan Internet" (no quotes) for Name of New Phonebook Entry
• click NEXT
• check I am calling the Internet
• check the non-WindowsNT Server...
• click NEXT
• enter the Shuksan Internet Phone Number appropriate for your area
• check Use Telephony Dial Properties
• click NEXT
• select Point-to-Point (PPP)
• click NEXT
• select None
• click NEXT
• leave My IP Address: 0.0.0.0
• click NEXT
• leave DNS Server: 0.0.0.0
• leave Wins Server: 0.0.0.0
• click NEXT
• click FINISH

At the Dial-up Networking Screen (visible after completing above steps):

• select the Shuksan Internet Phonebook entry to dial
• click More/Edit entry and modem properties...
  • Server Tab
    • check only TCP/IP and Enable software compression
    • click TCP/IP Settings
    • select server assigned IP addres
    • select specify name server addresses
    • enter Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
    • enter Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
    • click OK
  • Script Tab
    1. select None
  • Security Tab
    1. select Accept any authentication including clear text
    2. click OK
• click More/Create shortcut to entry ... (on desktop is fine)
• click Dial
• enter your Shuksan Internet username.
• enter your Shuksan Internet password.
• remove any Domain Name listed
• click OK
